About The Blog

The Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts and Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis have joined together to create the Contemporary-Pulitzer blog which, for the first time, combines the perspectives of two separate institutions with differing missions within the same blog.

Offering alternating posts each day from the Pulitzer and Contemporary, the blog provides a candid look at the behind-the-scenes workings of both arts organizations.

Post our Poster

Now that we have our beautiful poster (see previous Pulitzer post) the world needs to see it. Tyler Green, of Modern Art Notes, had a great suggestion…if you feel inspired by your latest trip to the Pulitzer and decide to put up our poster, take a picture of it and send it to us. I’ll post the best of the best on our blog. Whether it be around town, around another town, on your refrigerator, on the Arch, on the Eiffel Tower (with permission, naturally) take a picture of it and email rgagnon@pulitzerarts.org You can print out the pdf or visit us during open hours and pick up a free poster (yes free!) from the front desk.

Now it’s time for…

The Minimalism Fact o’ the Day: In the 1960s, before commonly being referred to as Minimalism, these art works were called a variety of names. Some of these include: ABC art, Cool art, Imageless Pop, Literalist art, Object art, and Primary Structure art. (from the Guggenheim’s website)
