About The Blog

The Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts and Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis have joined together to create the Contemporary-Pulitzer blog which, for the first time, combines the perspectives of two separate institutions with differing missions within the same blog.

Offering alternating posts each day from the Pulitzer and Contemporary, the blog provides a candid look at the behind-the-scenes workings of both arts organizations.

The Light Project Opening

Ice cream update:  We just received these images from Spencer Finch – looks like his color testing this week was a success!  Here are the St. Louis sunset hues you’ll be able to eat:

One of these colors you’ll be able to eat tonight – the opening is from 6-9pm.  We’ve had some inclement weather (i.e. torrential rain) but it looks like it’s cleared up.  We’ll be here rain or shine.  Like someone mentioned – “just like the mailman”.

Here’s some new press up today on the project, for your reading and listening pleasure:  Maria Hickey on our local NPR affiliate, KWMU ,and the St. Louis Beacon.  Tyler Green wrote a great post about Spencer and his ice cream (liked the reference to Ted Drewes, by the way!).

I’ve spent the afternoon working with Steve on the placement of the cell phone tour signs in front of each artwork.  They look great and glow in the dark.  That’s right.  So bring your cell phones, maaaaybe your umbrellas, and we’ll see you tonight!
